Updates to Previous Project 5
UPDATE: Oh no! The first seven copies of project 5 that sold, have a few editing errors that neither of the two spelling and grammar checking apps corrected. I edited on the writing app, on the .docx file, and the .pdf file. The .docx file was uploaded to the writing app where more editing is done and then uploaded to the previewer and ultimately to the e-book format in the online store. The .pdf file gets uploaded to the paperback formatting division and then printed. After the edits and reading all of the words aloud just to do a better job of editing, I uploaded the files to the store. When the paperback arrived in the mail, page 6 was missing a few words. It should read as ‘One side of the trail led up the mountain into the forest…’ instead of just ‘One side up the mountain into the forest’ , which would be a better song lyric, I think. On page 12, there should be a period after the word ‘companions’. Additionally, there were a few extra articles of the word “the” because while editing, I changed the words ‘the leaf fairy’ and named her ‘Fairyana’, which does not need the article ‘the’ in front to define her. I had to correct the errors and upload the newest versions of the files, then, order and read the paperback and e-book again to make sure it is written and formatted as intended. It proved to be a different experience of formatting with illustrations on multiple devices in comparison to only text.
It is strange to me that even after reviewing the story with two professional spelling and grammar apps to improve the editing, it still had issues. The two apps and I apparently need another editor. I’ll be sending an updated version to the buyers of the first seven copies if I can locate them. Luckily, I already know two of the first seven purchasers’ names.
Thank you all for purchasing the books. I sincerely hope that you and your kids enjoy reading this story which is illustrated with mixed media.
Mr. Fweely, Mo, and Pierre’s Journey to the Festival of Time began when they all sort of appeared on naturally dyed cards that the author made from some leaves from the garden. Mr. Fweely, Mo, Pierre, and Fairyana met and became friends instantly. The author decided to tell their story by sketching them into the pages and added her mixed media illustrations to share their experiences about going past the Coral Canyon on their way to the Festival of Time at the Blue Island Bay.
